Hello friend, I’m Kate
And I am so glad you are here.
For a long time, I was very good at doing what needed to be done. I lost my father when I was 19, so at that young age I became proficient at numbing out any feeling or sensation that would get in my way of doing what needed to be done.
I became a mother in 2020 and in the years that followed, I walked alongside my aging mother and father-in-law in the last chapters of their lives.
Somewhere in between the births and the deaths, the responsibilities and the new identities, I became painfully aware that I was not fully present in living my life.
The numbness was there through it all.
But I became curious, and grief became a catalyst.
It brought me into a deeper relationship with myself and with my body. Slowly, I began to pay attention to the sensations I'd spent years overriding—the tension, the ease, the resistance, the energy, the desire.
I began to recognize that my body was giving me information all along. I had simply become very good at overriding it.
Why I Do This Work
I do this work because I want women to know what becomes possible when they stop overriding themselves.
When you have spent years taking care of everyone else, doing what needs to be done and making life work, it can become surprisingly difficult to know what you want for yourself.
I know this because I have lived it.
I also know what can happen when you slow down enough to listen again. When you begin to notice what your body is telling you, reconnect with your desires, and trust what you discover.
There is a kind of aliveness that comes from being fully inside your own life. From knowing what you want. From making choices because they feel true for you, not simply because they make sense or keep everyone else happy.
I want women to have the courage and the pride to want what they want.
To make room for their creativity. To question the expectations they've inherited. To stop automatically putting themselves last. To create lives and relationships with more room for equality, collaboration and reciprocity.
Because when a woman begins to live this way, the impact reaches beyond her. The way she lives, chooses, loves and leads can show the people around her—and the next generation—what is possible.
That is the work I want to be part of.
